A Message From Feline Medical Clinic

COVID-19 Protocol Update

COVID-19 Updated Response:
4-16-20

We at the Feline Medical Clinic understand and share your concern regarding the COVID-19 virus. Please read our statement in regards to pets and animals contracting COVID-19: (https://www.facebook.com/FelineMedicalClinic/posts/2973370899352219?__tn__=-R).
While we are open, we are concentrating our time, effort, and supplies on sick cats. Thus if you have a young and healthy cat, we may ask you to wait a few weeks before scheduling your cat's physical exam; although if you have any questions about this do not hesitate to contact us. Additionally, we want to remind our clients that if you are feeling unwell, please do not come to your cat's appointment. We want to keep our staff healthy so we can be available if needed. We can discuss options if your cat needs to be seen and you are unable to come to the appointment.

We are currently following all recommendations made by the World Health Organization (WHO), Center for Disease Control (CDC), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and local authorities. We have increased our cleaning and disinfecting of the waiting room, exam rooms, bathrooms, and any other shared spaces. Additionally, we are asking any staff to stay home if they are feeling unwell. Furthermore, we are all wearing face masks as a general safety precaution for our clients and staff. Please help us keep our staff safe by bringing only essential people to your cat's appointment if at all possible.

We understand that our waiting room can get crowded, and our exam rooms don't allow for the recommended 6 feet of distancing between individuals. In a continued effort to keep our staff and clients safe, we are encouraging clients to remain in their vehicle if at all possible during their cat's appointment, and when picking up food or medication.

To help facilitate this, the Feline Medical Clinic has set up a texting number- (503) 622-9042, to allow clients to notify us via text when they arrive at the clinic. Please include your name, your cat's name, and the make/color of your vehicle in your text when you are here. If you have an appointment, our receptionist team will let our staff know you have arrived, and one of our team members will greet you at your vehicle. The team member will then collect your cat (who must be in a secure carrier). Your vehicle, your cat, and your cat's chart will all be tagged with a unique letter to ensure your cat returns safely and securely to you. You may either complete a history on the phone with one of our doctors during your cat's appointment, or prepare an email/printed sheet with any concerns in advance. After your cat's appointment, your cat will be returned safely to you and our front staff will collect payment at your vehicle.

If you need to pick up food or medication, please call us at our office number in advance so we can prepare your supplies ahead of time. When you arrive to pick up your supplies, please text us at our texting number as previously described. One of our staff members will bring your order out to you and collect payment. Please remember that some food can be ordered online - see our Resources Section here

Our texting number is (503) 622-9042. Please note this number does not accept calls nor will we respond to concerns via text. This number is only designed to be used as a method to communicate with our reception team. If you are unable to text, please do not hesitate to call our normal office number to notify our reception team of your arrival- (360) 892-0224. Additionally, you can knock on the front door if you do not have a cell phone to let the reception team know you are here.

Please remember that COVID-19 is creating an ever changing situation. We will update our policy and you, our clients, as needed with any changes. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us via phone or email with any questions during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Feline Medical Clinic Team

COVID-19 Response

3-17-2020

We at the Feline Medical Clinic understand and share your concern regarding the COVID-19 virus. While we want to remind you there is currently no risk to your pets from the virus, you may still need to seek veterinary care during this time. If you are scheduling routine wellness care however, we would ask you wait at least two weeks if possible. We want to help ensure your comfort and safety when coming to visit us at the Feline Medical Clinic.

Additionally, we are asking any staff (and clients) to stay home if they are not feeling well. Please help us keep our staff safe by bringing only essential people to your cat's appointment if at all possible (ideally adults only).

We understand, however, that our waiting room can get crowded and our exam rooms don't allow for the recommended 6 feet of distancing between individuals. We would like to offer some alternative options if you feel uncomfortable coming into our building. Please see the options below and let our receptionists know when you schedule your appointment if you would like to utilize one of these options during your cat's visit. Additionally, if none of the options fit your needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to us to make a customized plan to keep you and your cat safe.

  1. If you would like to avoid our building entirely you may call from your car when you and your cat arrive in the parking lot. One of our team members will come out and collect your cat (who must be in a secure carrier). Your car, your cat, and your cats chart will all be tagged with the same number to ensure your cat returns safely and securely to you. You may either complete a history on the phone with one of our doctors during your cat's appointment or prepare an email/printed sheet with any concerns. If your cat is coming for a physical exam we can email a standard questionnaire to you prior to your cats appointment.  After your cat's appointment, your cat will be returned safely to you and our front staff will collect payment at your car.
  2. If you would like to avoid the waiting room you may call from your car when you and your cat arrive in the parking lot. When a room is available one of our team will come to your car and escort you straight into an exam room.
  3. If you are picking up food or medication but do not want to enter our building please feel free to call from your car and one of our staff members will bring your order out to you and collect payment. Please remember some food can be ordered online- please visit our website https://www.felinemedicalclinic.com and look under resources for more information.

Please remember that COVID-19 is creating an ever changing situation. We will update our policy and you, our clients, as needed with any changes. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us via phone (360) 892-0224 or email felinemedical@gmail.com with any questions during this challenging time.

Sincerely,
