Carrie Burhenn joined the practice on July 7, 1990 as a full time veterinarian. She received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in 1990. In 1998, she received the specialty certification, diplomate ABVP feline practice. Carrie enjoys working at the Feline Medical Clinic because of the combination of clients, cats and staff that support each other in the common goal of improving our pet's lives through progressive medicine.
She currently is the proud owner of two cats. Tucker is an overactive-since-kittenhood-but-never-slowed-down-even-as-a-senior (1991) orange tabby. Chester (2001) is also an orange tabby, he is a "special-needs attack cat".
Carrie spends her free moments collecting old books on Africa, drawing, painting, making life-size paper mache camel head sculptures (and other eclectica). She also enjoys bicycling/touring and international adventure traveling to learn more about other people and cultures.

Cathy King has been with the Feline Medical Clinic since 1991. She received her BS in Biology and Animal Science in 1986 from Oregon State University. In 1991, she received her Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota.
Witnessing the animal-human bond experiences, meeting the variety of cats and their owners, and hearing stories from clients about their cats are what Cathy values most as a clinic doctor. She also takes pleasure in working closely with our great staff.
When she's not being a dedicated veterinarian, Cathy enjoys being a dedicated wife and mom -- watching her two daughters, Lindley and Robyn, play various sports, reading, cooking and baking.
Cathy has four cats: Smokey, Jitterbug, Java Creme and Chisomo. She also has one dog, an Australian Shepherd named Dottie.

Laura Golden became a full-time associate veterinarian at the Feline Medical Clinic in July of 2008. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
Laura joined the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) in 2008.
Prior to joining our team, Laura was a hard-working college student.
Laura has 3 cats. Sasha is 2 years and 2 months, Duncan is 1 year and 4 months, and Natasha is 1 year and 3 months old.
When Laura is away from the clinic, she enjoys reading, playing video games and making jewelry. She also likes to scuba dive and to cheer on her favorite college football teams in the fall.

Christy Novick joined the Feline Medical Clinic team in August, 2008, as a full-time associate. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2008. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of North Texas in 2004. She is currently working on a masters of public health degree at the University of Minnesota, with hopes of finishing in 2009.
Christy belongs to the AVMA and AAHA (for 4 years), the AAV for 3 years (Association of Avian Veterinarians), and the ARAV (Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians) for a year. She recently joined the WSVMA and OVMA.
Before Christy became a veterinarian, she was a Veterinary Technician, working in a small animal/avian/exotic practice in Texas, while working on her undergraduate degree. She also spent 13 years in consumer finance (auto lending)/corporate training.
Christy has 4 cats: Jack (11 years), Cole (8 years), Paige (6 years) and Zippy (2 years old). She also has a retired racer/blood donor Greyhound named Grinn (6 years old), a Ball Python named Lucifer (6 years old) and a yellow-naped Amazon parrot, Son of Birdhead (6 years old).
Christy loves general practice, especially being able to build relationships with clients and families, and being able to help them through all stages of their cats lives. She also enjoys the opportunity to learn something new everyday and loves being a part of the great FMC team, where everyone is caring and loves the cats.
Christy shares her home with her husband, her mom Laurie, and her sister Jennifer. When she's not working, Christy enjoys spending time with her husband and their pets, working on cross-stitch projects, watching football and Nascar racing, and reading historical mysteries.
